OLD BUSINESS: 800 MHz Rebanding Update Vice Chairman Mallette asked if Warren could update the Board on the rebanding. Warren turned the update over to Bob who presented handouts for User Agency Cost Recovery. (Attachment included) Any time spent rebanding is reimbursable through Sprint/Nextel. Reimbursement will occur at the end of rebanding the system. A per unit cost per agency has been established including mileage and hourly cost by department. When the rebanding is complete an invoice will come to the department and if the invoice is approved it will then be submitted to the County before going to Sprint/Nextel; the check for the approved amount will go to the County for disbursement. Included on the invoice will be an activity report for each serial number. As of today, there are about 1000 new radios since the original inventory and these serial numbers and model numbers need to be added to the inventory so that they can ensure that they are included in the rebanding and get invoiced for reimbursements. To date there are about 1000 radios that have been rebanded out of about 2500. Wilmington Police Department will be started next week and take approximately three weeks to complete. The Sheriff’s office will be next before they start on some of the smaller agencies that haven’t been done yet. Bob said that he hopes they will complete this rebanding by the end of the year. Bob then asked if there were any questions. There weren’t any. Please remember to keep accurate logs for the reimbursement forms and to fill them out completely before turning them in; also turn them in on a regular basis. Meeting Participation Vice Chairman Mallette asked if there was anything impeding the level of participation for these meetings. In the previous meetings, Chairman Powell stated that we would be willing to visit other locations upon occasion but that the time seemed agreeable to all. If anyone has any suggestions, please bring them to the next meeting. Integrated Fire Dispatch Vice Chairman Mallette asked if there were any updates on the integrated dispatch. Dorian informed everyone that they had not gotten together this past month but they would get a meeting soon to involve all agencies since they have now expanded the purpose to include interdepartmental communication. They have been talking with other counties to see how their agencies handle communications. They will work on this for ours and send out drafts for approval for a Standardized Communication Policy. NEW BUSINESS Vice Chairman Mallette asked if anyone had any new business to discuss and there was none. OTHER ITEMS AND REPORTS Public Safety Communications Warren stated that the stats were sent out by email and to let Lynn know if you are not receiving your copies. They are still trying to resolve the problems with CAD. After the work was completed by IT there are still issues. IT has done everything recommended by the vendor but this has not fixed the problem. Now, IT and Emergency Management & 9-1-1 will meet with the vendor to get the issues worked out. Jan has gotten with Forsyth County they are having similar problems that we are with the slow downs. IT will be checking with a couple more counties to see if this is the same for them as what we are encountering. Other Patricia Fields said that digital radios have been approved for the hospital so they will be going digital soon. Vice Chairman Mallette asked if anyone had anything else. Vice Chairman Mallette adjourned the meeting at 10:19 a.m.
