Reinhart, Heather Wrenn The meeting was opened by Alton Parker, Chairman. After introductory remarks,the erly tr.* * g was * *tiated by H. i Quidas who introduced L. Rheinhart and Heather Wre s of the Elderhaus Pace Progr. Is who presented "Looking at Community Long Te i Care". The Pace Progr is offers all inclusive care for the elderly, " a living progr • instead of an end of life prom . i ". The progr.is,which is Medicais edicare based,has existed as an optional benefit since 1997 and was approved for use in N.C. 'in Feb . of 2008. In April the service was offered for patients in New Hanover and B i s *ck Counties who are skilled nursing care eligible and whose f. •*lies are really motivated to keep them at home. It was an informative presentation for the CAC members. An update on the new Facility S ey Process observed by CAC members at M. I er was shared 'th other committee members.Election of CAC officers for 2009 results were Chairman-Alton Parker,Vice-C • s an-John Brett, Secretary-Cay Davis. Faci lity visitation reports were given by John Brett,Joan Apke, and Dot Grime. Of special note was a new pro. at Silver Str u which desiii ates a nurse manager to assure that new s I ssions are room ready with specific needed equipment and will serve as f. ily contact within 24 hours. After scheduling of upcoming facility visits,the meeting was adjourned.
