Attendees: Harvin Quidas, Regional Ombudsman, Mary Busbee, Sandra Ogelsby,
Marttha Stein, Lorraine Mc Evoy, Oliver Schreiber, Karen Vincent, Janet Locklear,
and Tom Jennings
Guest: Cheryl Mote, Adult Home Specialist, Regina Anderson, Adult Home
Specialist,
Absent: Carolyn Hooker, Woody Sutton, Brenda Thomas
Meeting was called to order by Janet Lock lear.
Harvin Quidas presented information to the group on mediation techniques and use
of the CALM method.
Janet Locklear announced that Liz Shultz and Ginger page had resigned from the
Committee.
Hurricane Prepardeness was discussed and members were asked to see if facilities
could describe their plans when visits were made.
Elder abuse prevention was discussed.
Safe driving with regard to senior citizens was discussed. Included m the discussion
was a review of what measures to take if offering aid at an accident site
Reports were given on visits by committee members.
The next meeting date will be October 3 at 9:30 am.
Tentative dates for facility visitations are
Group I—August 7 and 16
Group II—August 8 and August 15
