Meeting Minutes - ReaI Estate Committee
The New Hanover County ABC Board Real Estate Committee met January 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the
NHC Government Complex in a meeting room within the Legal suite. The following Board members,
staff and others were in attendance.
Robert Martenis,Vice Chair David Matthews, Board Member
Wanda Copley,Legal Counsel Dan Sykes, CEO
Gary Cain, Retail and LBD Ops Manager T.J. Land, Architect
The purpose of the meeting was to gather information regarding a third party to assist with the
coordination and construction of a building complex which the Board is considering.
The Board had previously discussed the services of a "Construction Manager at Risk"; when an
alternative was introduced, a "Construction Manager", the Committee was compelled to obtain
information regarding the differences and related costs. Mr. Land, who was working with the County on a
project, was available and he agreed to discuss the concept with the Committee. Mr. Land explained the
services he offered and agreed to provide a proposal.
