Meeting Minutes — Real Estate Committee
The New Hanover County ABC Board Real Estate Committee met October 29, 2014 at 10:00
AM at LS3P's office. The following Board members, staff and LS3P staff were in attendance.
Robert Martenis, Vice Chairman
Bill Kopp, Board Member
Gary Cain, Retail and LBD Operations Manager
Charles Boney, LS3P
Taylor Simms, LS3P
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the potential phases of remodeling during the 17th &
Castle project.
Mr. Martenis informed LS3P that the lack of cost information was hindering the Board's ability
to make a decision concerning the 17th & Castle Street project.. Attendees agreed that the cost
information should be delivered to the CEO by 11/10/2014.
After receiving information from Charles Boney concerning the phases of remodeling the
attendees agreed that moving LBD operations to 6009 Market Street during the up fit would be
beneficial to the Board. The attendees also agreed that temporarily moving the retail entrance to
the 18th Street side of the building would support a quicker and safer renovation.
Charles Boney proposed a meeting with members of the neighborhood on 11/06/2014. Time and
place to be determined. The Board attendees felt that this would be a great time to get
neighborhood feedback and opinions. Charles agreed to organize the meeting.
The results of the meeting will be discussed with the Board at its regular meeting on November
18, 2014.
