Current Efforts:
Wrightsville Beach (WB) Coastal Storm Damage Reduction (CSDR) Project
The US Army Corps of Engineers WB CSDR FY18 maintenance event.
Solicit request for proposals (RFP) on/about 15 September

Environmental window opens 16 November

The Validation Report’s project management plan approach was shared with Division on 23 August;
formal concurrence is pending.
Carolina Beach (CB) CSDR Project, Beach Renourishment Evaluation Report (BRER)
The BRER’s project management plan approach was shared with Division on 23 August; formal
concurrence is pending.
Kure Beach (KB) CSDR Project
The non-federal cost share supporting off-shore borrow area B’s supplemental geotechnical
assessment has been provided to the Wilmington District.
The geotech assessment’s scope and schedule are being developed.
Mason Inlet Relocation Project (MIRP)
The 2017 Monitoring and Engineering Report has been finalized.
The 2018 Monitoring and Engineering Report request for qualification packages are being reviewed.
Carolina Beach Inlet (CBI)
SAW’s Murden conducted a three-day maintenance dredging event making first use of the inshore
dredge material management site.

Shoreline Mapping 2017
Shoreline transect data is being evaluated for inclusion in the 2017 Shoreline Mapping Report.
Refined Coastal Modeling
The final draft of WB’s RCM is in production, modeling runs continue for Pleasure Island.
