Current Efforts:
Wrightsville Beach (WB) Coastal Storm Damage Reduction (CSDR) Project
The US Army Corps of Engineers WB CSDR FY18 maintenance event.
Solicited request for proposals (RFP) on 26 September

Opening bids on 19 October
o
Environmental window opens 16 November
o
The Validation Report’s DRAFT project management plan is anticipated in the next week to ten
days.
Carolina Beach (CB) CSDR Project, Beach Renourishment Evaluation Report (BRER)
The BRER’s DRAFT project management plan was shared with stakeholders on 4 October, comments
are due on 11 October.
Kure Beach (KB) CSDR Project
Offshore Borrow Area B, Geotechnical Assessment.
The vibracore contract has a targeted award date of mid-November.

The geophysical scope of work is in development.
o
The assessment results are intended to be used in KB’s FY19 CSDR plans and specifications.
o
Mason Inlet Relocation Project (MIRP)
The Monitoring and Engineering Contract selection has been made; Commissioners’ approval will be
requested in November.
Carolina Beach Inlet (CBI)
The next maintenance event is likely in late November; a hopper operation is anticipated.
