OLD BUSINESS:
Station Alerting
Chairman Blackley asked if
Steven Still had an update on Station Alerting. Steven stated that there are three different vendors; Pervis, Locution and MocAlert that have been evaluated over the last several weeks.
The next step would be creating a request for a bid that would encompass the needs for our agencies.
The Station Alerting would have to be obtained using surcharge funds; no other
funding source is being considered. If Station Alerting were to be obtained, it would require a grant request through the NC 911 Board under the reconsideration guidelines as there
are not enough funds in the current year’s budget for the purchase. Reconsideration grants are determined based on the NC 911 Boards applications received and the needs of the agencies.
Not all reconsideration grants are approved.
Chairman Blackley asked if anyone had questions about Station Alerting. No one had any.
Chairman Blackley asked if anyone had any other
old business for discussion. No one had any.
NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Blackley asked if there were any items for new business. No one had any.
OTHER ITEMS AND REPORTS
9-1-1 Center
Chairman Blackley asked if Steven Still could update everyone on 911. We have a new class that started in June; 9 full time and 2 part-time people.
Their training is being held in the backup center at Federal Point Fire Station.
The county has just approved funds for an increase of ten percent for the assistant supervisors and
telecommunicators; hopefully this will help attract employees and assist with our retention rates.
The county has approved the microwave replacements; all will done at one time rather
than one at a time, so there is less down time.
Steve asked Debora if there was anything she would like to add; Debora stated the 911 Center is working towards their accreditation.
They are having their second site visit from the academy this week.
Chairman Blackley asked if anyone had any more questions or items for 911. No one had any.
IT
Chairman Blackley
asked for an update for IT. Gia Long stated Superion is up to date.
They are working on the EMS Charts; Superion connected, operational and will be completed today or tomorrow.
Gia
also stated Optima testing will be in July, though there is not a go live date set yet.
Gia told everyone that One Solution MCT is on hold for now.
Gia also said that Fire House
Occupancy data is a work in progress.
Chairman Blackley asked if there were any questions for IT. No one had any.
Chairman Blackley asked if there were any other items to be discussed.
