Abbreviated Current Efforts:
Carolina Beach (CB) and Kure Beach (KB) Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Coastal Storm Damage Reduction (CSDR) Project
Project awarded to Weeks Marine on 30 November, construction schedule pending.
Bid volumes were CB 964,000 cubic yards and KB 637,000 cubic yards.
An additional $3.4M in Federal Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) funds were secured through
modified Project Information Reports (PIR).
Wrightsville Beach (WB) CSDR
An USACE post-Florence PIR has been initiated.
Mason Inlet Relocation Project (MIRP)
The USACE awarded the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) contract to Southwind Construction on 27
November, construction schedule pending.
Carolina Beach Inlet (CBI)
Currituck completed a maintenance event on 26 November, removing ~7800 cubic yards with
management in the nearshore disposal area.
Refined Coastal Modeling (RCM)
The CB and KB refined coastal modeling efforts are ongoing.
WB, Post Authorization Change Report (PACR)
The USACE provided stakeholders a project update on 7 December.

A Chiefs Report execution date remains 1 Quarter 2020.
CB, Beach Renourishment Evaluation Report (BRER)
A project update has been tentatively scheduled for January 2019.
The USACE draft document release date is tentatively May 2019.
The non-federal Risk Reduction Plan is complete and awaiting submittal.

On Wednesday, December 19 the NC Division of Water Resources will lead the next Shallow Draft Inlet Long Term
Memorandum of Agreement stakeholders meeting. The meeting will be held from 10:30AM to 12:30PM in the Cullman
Performance Hall at the NC History Center in New Bern. The facility address is 529 South Front Street, New Bern, NC.
