The minutes of the last meeting- were read and approved.
The Health Officer pre sented the monthly reports.
The Health Officer discussed y,ith the BOilrd members the urgent need
for a full time physician in the department in view of the fact that
the U. S. Public Health Service had verbally notified us that their
physician might be released at any time in the future, and certainly
not later than July 1, 1946.
The Health Officer and Dr. Huffman discussed with the Board members
the need for a full time Veterinarian. Dr. Huffman assured us that he
would get any help possible from Dr. William Moore, State Veterinarian.
The Board authorized the Health Officer to try to secure as early as
possible a physician and a Veterinarian.
The lIealth Officer reported to the Board members that Horse Pond Drain
apparently has been stopped up for a g-ood many weeks. He called to
the Board's attention that a COJc.nittee of City officials were consider-
ing llhether this is a public responsibility or the responsibility of
the private property owners.
.J'ter a brief discussion of the '.Iilkins rat proofing problem, it was
moved by lI~or Lane, seconded by Dr. Moore, that a letter be written
to !"r. 'dilkins to the effect that a compromise sett lement of -;;S100 .00
was recommended by the Board. Carried.
