REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD
NOVEMBER 5, 1952
Present: Mr. Addison Hewlett, Chairman; Mayor E. L. ~fuite, Dr. J. C.
Wessell, Dr. J. C. Knox and Dr. James H. Smith.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Health Officer presented for the Board's consideration a memorandum
from Hiss Bayley, Supervising Nurse, in vrhich she again requested an
adjustment of her travel allowance. Following a discussion of this
matter; motion was made by Dr. James H. Smith that her travel allowance
be restored to $40.00 per month and that it be retroactive to July 1,
1952. This motion was seconded by Dr. Knox and carried. (Sufficient
funds for this increase, ,,180.00, to be take.., from the contincent budget
item) .

The matter of the proposed mortuaI"'J to be established at Fifth and Dawson
3tre"ts was presented to the board by the Health Ufficer. After a general
discussion of this subject; it was moved by ~myor White, seconded by Dr.
Knox, that the Health Ofi'icer make investigation relative to regulations
governing undertaking establishments in other cities and counties and make
a survey of the local undertaking establishments and present back to the
Board rules and regulations concerning requirew,nt:3 for undertaking establish-
ments in this County.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
