REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING BOARD OF HEALTH
HELD IN OFFICE OF BOARD
October 7, 1964
Present: Chairman J. M. Hall, Jr., Dr. J. C. Knox, Dr. James Smith
Minutes of the September 2 meeting were approved by motion of Dr. Knox,
seconded by Dr. Smith.
This meeting consisted of a general discussion of sections of the proposed
new plumbing code. ~~. Norman McKenzie, Chairman of the Committee working
on the new code, Hr. W. H. Cranford, Director of Sanitation and Hr. H. McC.
Biddle, Plumbing Inspector, were present for this discussion.
The Board agreed that suggestions and criticisms from interested people
concenrlng the proposed code lIlUst be presented in writing at least twenty-
four hours before the time of the hearing or the Board will not hear them.
The Board went on record as agreeing that there has been no discussion and
no intent by the Board of Health to do away with the Journeyman Plumbers
License. (Examinations will go on the basis of previous examinations for
the time being and until the new code is adopted.)
Several more meetings to discuss the new code are to be held by the Board
before the joint meeting of the committee and the Board is held.
