Welcome and Introductions:
The 3rd quarter meeting, held at the NHC Emergency Operations Center, was called to order at
approximately 11:05 hours starting with introductions review of last meeting minutes which will be
amended to add a list of the attendees. Warren Lee made a motion to approve the minutes with Teresa
Smith seconding the motion.
Presentation:
Eric Hatcher, along with Gigi Baggarley, Environmental Data Analyst with CFPUA, introduced a software
program that can be used to assist with water emergencies.
Eric Hatcher talked about the processes during a water emergency to include notification by or to
NCDENR declaring a water emergency, notification process, establishing a buffer zone and water
treatment during the emergency.
Water Emergency Tabletop Exercise is scheduled for December 3, 2015 from 11:30am-2:30pm at NHC
Emergency Operations Center.
New Business:
Teresa Smith announced the upcoming E-Plan Conference in Raleigh on November 4-5, 2015. She also
advised the committee that the NHC LEPC is now established as Weather Ready Nation Ambassador.
Teresa Smith informed the committee of the HMEP Grant Award of $6,200.
Kevin Cowan talked to the committee about a hazmat exercise that will be conducted using the grant
funds.
Next LEPC Meeting:
Due to Veterans Day Holiday, the next LEPC meeting was rescheduled for Tuesday, November 17th @
11:00am at the NHCEOC. The proposed agenda for this meeting includes subcommittee reviews and
membership updates.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 11:40am.
