A regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17t' St., Wilmington, N. C. on January 17, 2008 at
9:00 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Stephen E. Culbreth, Member
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Sgt. S. L. Morgan, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. W. R. Ruefle, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Jerry Mannen, Attorney to the Board I
Mr. Culbreth made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on December 21, 2007
not be read and that they be approved. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and Chairman
Wells so ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of December. He reported that the
sales for the month were $3,105,598.41 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,622,602.00. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year show an increase of
$81,225.28 or 2.69 %. Yearly sales comparisons show a increase of $2,073,745.39 or
7.26%.
Sgt. Morgan reported that for the month of December Law Enforcement conducted
7 inspections of the 262 outlets resulting in 2 oral warnings.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to distribute $300,000.00 to the municipalities for the
quarter ending December 31, 2007. Mr. Culbreth seconded the motion and Chairman Wells
so ordered.
Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for February 21, 2008.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Mr. Culbreth seconded
the motion and Chairman Wells so ordered,
