A regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17th St., Wilmington, N. C. on January 15, 2009 at
8:30 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Jerry Mannen, Attorney to the Board
Det. Clifton Carroll, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dent.
Mr. Hanson made a motion that the,minutes of the meeting on December 18, 2008
not be read and that they be approved. Chairman Wells seconded the motion and so
ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the 'Month of December. He reported that the
sales for the month were $3,068,364.77 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,812,050.66. Monthly comparisons' for the same period last year show a decrease of
$37,233.642 or -1.20%. Yearly sales comparisons show an increase of $189,448.66 or
.62%.
Det. Carroll reported that for the month of December Law Enforcement conducted
13 inspections of the 278 outlets.
Mr. Hanson made, a motion to distribute $300,000.00 to the municipalities for the
quarter ending December 31, 2008. Chairman Wells seconded the motion and so ordered.
Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for February 19, 2009.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Wells seconded the
motion and so ordered.
