2008-04-17 MinutesA regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17'h St., Wilmington, N. C. on April 17, 2008 at
9:00 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Stephen E. Culbreth, Member
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Sgt. S. L. Morgan, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Before opening the meeting, Chairman Wells presented Mrs. Mary Cain with a
plaque for her 29 years service with the Board. She is retiring June 1, 2008.
Mr. Culbreth made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on March 20, 2008 not
be read and that they be approved. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and Chairman Wells
so ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of March. He reported that the sales
for the month were $2,333,396.08 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,618,221.84. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year show a decrease of
-$181,142.03 or -7.20 %. Yearly sales comparisons show an increase of $1,527,631.61 or
5.25%.
Sgt. Morgan reported that for the month of March Law Enforcement conducted 10
inspections of the 265 outlets.
Mr. Culbreth made a motion to distribute $300,000.00 to the municipalities for the
quarter ending March 31, 2008. Mr. Hanson seconded the mdtio'n and Chairman Wells so
ordered.
Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for May 15, 2008.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Mr. Culbreth seconded
the motion and Chairman Wells so ordered.
