2008-08-21 MinutesA regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17"' St., Wilmington, N. C. on August 21, 2008 at
9:00 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Stephen E. Culbreth, Member
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Doug Fox, NCABC Commission
Sgt. S. L. Morgan, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. W. R. Ruefle, New 11anover County Sheriffs Dept.
Mr. Culbreth made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on July 17, 2008 not be
read and that they be approved. Mr. Hansons'econded the motion and Chairman Wells so
ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of July. He reported that, the sales
for the month were $3,049,663.01 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,810,205.70. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year she an increase of
$263,967.3 9 or 9.48%. Yearly sales comparisons she an increase of 75',246.31. or
2.92%
Sgt. Morgan reported that for the month of July Law Enforcement conducted 12
inspections of the 267 outlets.
Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for September 23, 2008.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting and reconvene in
executive session to discuss property acquisitions.(GS 143-318.11) Mr. Culbreth seconded
the motion and Chairman Wells so ordered. .
