A regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17th St., Wilmington, N. C. on February 19, 2009 at
8:30 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Steve Culbreth, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Jerry Mannen, Attorney to the Board
Sgt. S. L. Morgan, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. W. R. Ruefle, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Doug Fox, N. C. ABC Commission
Stan Paradis, Auditor to the Board
Mr. Hanson made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on January 15, 2009 not
be read and that they be approved. Mr. Culbreth seconded the motion and Chairman
Wells so ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of January. He reported that the
sales for the month were $2,122,986.93 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,893,498,74. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year show an increase of
$81,448.08 or 3.99%. Yearly sales comparisons show an increase of $261,289.68 or .85%.
Sgt. Morgan reported that for the month of January Law Enforcement conducted 9
inspections of the 279 outlets.
Mr. Williams reported that the store at Carolina Beach is underway and on schedule.
Stan Paradis presented the audit for the .quafterending December 31, 2008. He
reported that gross profit from sales was up 2%.over the same period last year.
Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for March 19, 2009.
Mr. Hanson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Culbreth seconded the
motion and Chairman Wells so ordered.
