A regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17th St., Wilmington, N. C. on June 18, 2009 at
8:30 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Steve Culbreth, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Doug Fox, Attorney to the Board
Sgt. S. L. Morgan, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. W. R. Ruefle, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. Cliff Carroll, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Det. Reed Schronce, New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept
Mr. Culbreth made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on May 21, 2009 not be
read and that they be approved. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and Chairman Wells so
ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of May. He reported that the sales
for the month were $2,830,424.49 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,639,150.16. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year show a decrease of
$163,276.01 or -5.45%. Yearly sales comparisons show a decrease of $138,998.79 or
-.45%.
Sgt. Morgan reported that for the month of May Law Enforcement conducted 7
inspections of the 262 outlets. He introduced Det. Reed Schronce who will replace him as
of July 1, due to his retirement from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
Mr. Williams presented Sgt. Morgan with a plaque from the ABC Board for his
service to the Board and everyone wished him well in his retirement.

Mr. Wells set the date of the next meeting for July 16, 2009.
Mr. Culbreth made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Mr. Hanson seconded
the motion and Chairman Wells so ordered.
