A regular meeting of the New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
was held at the General Office at 523 S. 17'h St., Wilmington, N. C. on October 15, 2009 at
8:30 A. M.
Members of the Board present were:
Charles C. Wells, Chairman
Richard V. Hanson, Member
Steve Culbreth, Member
Others in attendance were:
W. R. Williams, Administrator
Brad Williams, Assistant Administrator
Doug Fox, Attorney to the Board
Sgt. W. R. Ruetle New Hanover County Sheriff's Dept.
William Hester, Southern Wines and Spirits
Mr. Culbreth made a motion that the minutes of the meeting on September 24, 2009
not be read and that they be approved. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and Chairman
Wells so ordered.
Mr. Williams presented the sales for the month of September. He reported that the
sales for the month were $2,456,127.11 and sales for the twelve-month period were
$30,455,84139. Monthly comparisons for the same period last year show an increase of
$171,999.39 or 7.53%. Yearly sales comparisons show a decrease of $330,200.19 or
-1.07%.
Sgt. Ruefle reported that for the month of September Law Enforcement conducted 3
inspections of the 263 outlets resulting in I oral warning.
Mr. Culbreth made a notion to distribute $300,000.00 to the county and the
municipalities for the quarter ending September 30, 2009: Mr. Hanson seconded the motion
and Chairman Wells so ordered.
Chairman Wells set the date of the next meeting for November 19, 2009.
Mr. Culbreth made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Mr. Hanson seconded
the motion and Chairman Wells so ordered.
