Adjournment NEW HANOVER COUNTY PARKS ADVISORY BOARD PAGE 1 REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 5, 2022 ASSEMBLY The Parks Advisory Board held its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 8:15am at Long Leaf Park, Shelter #6. Present: John Hinnant (presiding), Joe Irrera, Nicholas Leger. Absent: Kagney Kellum, Patrick , and Pete Wildeboer. Staff: Tara Duckworth, Tanya Gurganious, Andy Johnson, and Jodi Rich. WELCOME AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES The meeting was called to order by John Hinnant who welcomed everyone and asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the December meeting. The following motion was presented: st MOTION: Joe Irrera MOVED; SECONDED by Nick Leger, that the minutes of the December 1 meeting be approved. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 1. Ninja Warrior Course. John shared that he asked that the board meet at the park so that everyone could look at the new ninja course. Benches will be installed along with a shade structure and a small picnic table. The board was also able to look at the newly installed adult basketball court. Those present then walked over to the revised youth court to view that as well, which has a colorful sign installed stating the rules of court use. 2. Voice of the Customer. None this month. Tara shared that she has spoken to Colin Hackman, and he will attend the February meeting to discuss the triathlon/marathons. 3. Top of Mind Topics. John asked if anyone had any top-of-mind topics to discuss. He then shared that while at Long Leaf Park, he noticed that work is progressing on the ninja warrior site. 4. Director/Staff Q&A. Staff provided the following updates: The owl playground has been ordered for the Hanover Pines playground. New LED tennis lights were added to all four tennis courts at Long Leaf Park and court resurfacing will take place this spring. A new playground has been installed at Veterans Park. 5. Next Meeting. Pump track presentation will be shared at the next meeting which will take place on nd Wednesday, February 2 at 8:15am. 6. Adjournment. There were no additional items to discuss. The meeting adjourned at 8:51am.
