Adjournment NEW HANOVER COUNTY PARKS ADVISORY BOARD PAGE 1 REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 2, 2022 ASSEMBLY The Parks Advisory Board held its regular meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Airlie Cottage. Present: John Hinnant (presiding), Lindy Ford, Ryan Bisplinghoff, Carol Hunter, and Gayle Tabor. Excused: Pete Wildeboer. Guests: Dave Ellegood Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association was unable to attend Staff: Tara Duckworth, Tanya Gurganious, Andy Johnson, Latashia Smith, and Jodi Rich. WELCOME AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES The meeting was called to order by John Hinnant who asked for a motion to excuse the absence of Pete Wildeboer who had a prior meeting and to approve the minutes of the October 5, 2022, board meeting. The following motion was presented: MOTION: Lindy Ford MOVED; SECONDED by Gayle Tabor, that Pete Wildeboer be excused, and the minutes of the October 5th meeting be approved. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 1.Voice of the Customer. None to report. Dave Ellegood, Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, was unable to attend the meeting. He is scheduled to attend the January meeting. 2.Top of Mind Topics. None. 3.Director/Staff Q&A. Tara and Andy discussed the State Tennis Tournament being held this weekend. All tennis courts are reserved on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for this event. The Latino Festival is also taking place this weekend and usually draws around 10,000 to 13,000 people over the course of two days. Hanover Pines Park construction officially began on November 1, 2022. Long Leaf Tennis court resurfacing has been completed. The Northern Regional Park 1.7-mile trail is under construction. Completion is expected by Christmas. Star News called about Echo Farms neighborhood turning 50. Tara presented pictures of the Art in the Park which is expected to last 3 to 4 months and will be redone in the spring. It will be promoted on the Parks Instagram page. Andy mentioned bringing the Park Resource officers back in to speak at the next meeting for the Voice of the Customer. 4.Next Meeting. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 7th. 5.Adjournment.
