on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Williston Auditorium at the Cape Fear Museum. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Gattone at 4:00 PM. Approval of Minutes: Lowell Soucie
Two grammatical corrections were noted. A motion to accept the May 19, 2010 minutes with noted corrections was made by Sandra Sheridan and seconded by Jack Mills. Motion passed, without
opposition. Consideration of Absences: Lowell Soucie Jonathan Barfield, Jr. and Dawn McKernan were excused as absent. Chairman’s Report: Dean Gattone New board officer nominations are:
o Dean Gattone, Chairman o John Haley, Vice Chairman o Sandra Sheridan, Secretary A motion to accept the slate of officers for 2011 was made by Sandra Sheridan and seconded by Jack Mills.
Motion passed without opposition. Associates Report: Tom Cunningham Annual meeting will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Financial committee will have annual plan in place for the annual
meeting. Discussion continues on support for the museum news magazine. Collection Report: John Haley The Collections committee recommended that the 1931 copy of Williston Echo, issue
1, volume 1, should be deaccessioned and returned to the donor’s family at their request. This recommendation was approved without opposition. The recommendation to deaccess will be
forwarded to the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners for action. Long Range Planning: Dean Gattone A motion to endorse an increase in general admission fees by $1.00 was made by

2 Facilities: Bill Terrell Furniture for the courtyard is now in place. Education/Accreditation Committee: Jack Mills Education – Various ideas were brainstormed to attract and increase
general visitation both individually and in groups. Accreditation – Hoping to hear results by August. Museum Update: Ruth Haas Rebecca Philpott is back as the Administrative Assistant
for CFMA, Inc. Geneva Bacik has submitted her resignation. $20,000 was cut from the FY’11 operations budget. Funding lost for some part-time staff. Grant requests were submitted to Landfall
and International Paper Staff has been following through on recommendations from board on improved circulation of the news magazine. Reviewed Strategic Planning Premise handout. Old/New
Business Recognized departing board members. Lowell Soucie has served the board since 2005 and Stuart Ball since 2007. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by
Lowell Soucie and seconded by Stuart Ball. The meeting adjourned at 4:55 PM. The next meeting will be a joint orientation for new board members on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 3:30 PM
