The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Terrell at 4:03 PM. Approval of Minutes: John Haley Motion for approval made by John Haley and seconded by Bob Jones. Motion passed. Consideration of Absences: John Haley Ken Finch and Jack Mills were approved as absent. Collections Committee: Lowell Soucie The Collections Committee received a request from the Fort Fisher Museum to keep the Whitworth rifle diorama until April 2009. The committee recommended approval, and there being no opposition from the Board, the request was approved. CFMA, Inc. Report: Report: Janine Powell A grant application has been submitted to the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for $180,000 ($60,000/year for 3 years). The annual volunteer ice cream social is schedule for Monday, April 21, 2009. Wilmington Trolley Company will be offering a free trolley tour to invited guests and staff following the social. Directors Report: Ruth Haas Ruth gave the board a report on her trip to China. The 2009 budget preparation is ongoing. Currently we are comfortable working within the restrictions and cutbacks. The annual Grassroots Sciences Museums Collaborative Legislative Day will be held on June 11, 2008 in Raleigh. Ruth reviewed the itinerary for the day. Board members were encouraged to attend. Commissioner Pritchett stated she would be in Raleigh on that day and could attend. There being no further business Nancy Pritchett entertained a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Bill Terrell. The meeting adjourned at 5:04 PM.
