Advisory Board held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the Williston Auditorium at the Cape Fear Museum. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Terrell
at 4:03 PM. Approval of Minutes: John Haley Motion for approval made by John Haley and seconded by Lowell Soucie. Motion passed. Consideration of Absences: John Haley Dean Gattone was
approved as absent. CFMA, Inc. Report: Janine Powell The budget draft has been submitted to the CFMA Finance Committee. The CFMA annual meeting is scheduled for June 16, 2008 at 5:00
PM. CFM Advisory Board members will receive further information and invitations. A development plan plan for raising funds is currently in the works. Grant proposals will be submitted
for the Cape Fear Garden Club and the Landfall Foundation. Collections Committee: Lowell Soucie The committee work on the Museum reaccreditation is proceeding on target. Museum Programs:
Bob Jones The overall reaccreditation process is currently running ahead of schedule. A chart and accompanying spreadsheet was distributed to the board members depicting the status of

2 Director Report: Ruth Haas The Grassroots Science Museums Collaborative day at the NC Legislature in Raleigh is scheduled for June 11, 2008. A package of information will be distributed
to those CFMA board members planning to attend. Appointment times with each of the lower Cape Fear legislators will be scheduled in advance. A new direction focusing on marketing and
customer service is taking place at the front desk. As a result of this new direction the supervision of the front desk and security functions will move from Administration Department
to the Development Department. The Discovery Passport Program, marketing collaborative with 26 other attractions throughout the lower Cape Fear region, will be offered again this year
during tourist season. Old Business: Bill Terrell Adult Tours Jack Mills opened the discussion on how to get more adult tours to the museum. An excellent brainstorming session ensued
and some good suggestions were made. Janine Powell will work with Jacob Rudolph, Museum Public Relations Specialist, to market this group. Janine will keep the Board informed of their
progress. There being no further business Ken Finch entertained a motion to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 5:09 PM. The next board meeting will be on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 4:00
PM in the Williston Auditorium, Cape Fear Museum.
