Bill Terrell, CFM Advisory Board Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:01 PM. Board members encouraged continuing review of action items. Jack Mills inquired about the procedure for using the designated bond money for CFM. Nancy Pritchett clarified how bond money could be spent. Accreditation information was distributed. Bob Jones is chairing this effort. Facilities Report: Jack Mills Jack reported the house moving project is currently on hold. There has been no further communication with the property owners. The motion was approved unanimously, and the recommendation will be forwarded to the NHC Board of Commissioners. Donations to raise funds for the conservation services will be solicited. A suggestion was made to add a member-at-large from the community to serve on the collections committee. The committee member must be a member of the Museum. Barbara Rowe, Curator of the Museum, discussed the transfer of the archives collection to the North Carolina Room at the New Hanover County Main Library. Barbara explained the definition of these archives and how the transfers will be made. An update on the Haines Bride Dolls Collection move was given by Ruth. The vacated exhibit space will be used for a shell exhibit. 􀀧􀁌􀁕􀁈􀁆􀁗􀁒􀁕􀂶􀁖􀀃􀀵􀁈􀁓􀁒􀁕􀁗􀀝􀀃􀀃􀀵􀁘􀁗􀁋􀀃􀀫􀁄􀁄􀁖 An updated Museum programs calendar and outline was distributed and reviewed. Bruce Bowman is working on a proposal to revise the Museum Design Master Plan to accommodate a maritime exhibit galley and visitor vending area. The Williston Auditorium will be preserved for meeting and event space. Ruth distributed a printed report on the recent Wooden Boat Show on 7/28/07 and the Latino Day at CFM on 8/5/07. A joint retreat of the two boards is tentatively scheduled for November 3, 2007. Associates Report: Ruth Haas Capsule of printed report distributed to advisory board members follows. o $40,000 surplus income for FY06-07. Fifteen percent will go into the endowment funds and the balance will be used to support Museum programs. o CFMA, Inc. board will begin meeting every other month with executive committee meeting on alternate months. o Amendments to the Bylaws will be voted on at next meeting. o Committee chairs were announced. The next regular board meeting will be on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 4:00 PM in the Williston Auditorium of the Cape Fear Museum. The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 PM.
