2007-02-01 Special Meeting NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING, FEBRUARY 1, 2007 BOOK 31 PAGE 25 ASSEMBLY The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners met in a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 4:07 p.m. in Conference Room 601 at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. Members present were: Chairman William A. Caster; Vice-Chairman Robert G. Greer; Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr.; William A. Kopp, Jf.; Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett; County Manager Bruce T. Shell; County Attorney Wanda M. Copley and Clerk to the Board Sheila L. Schult. Chairman Caster called the meeting to order and announced that a Closed Session pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-318. 11(a)(3) to consult with counsel regarding a matter of potential litigation and according to N.C.G.S. 143- 318.11(5) to instruct the public body's staff concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in evaluating the possible acquisition of 603, 613 and 621 Trails End Road and in negotiating the price and material terms of proposed contracts for real property and requested a motion from the Board. Motion: Commissioner Pritchett MOVED, SECONDED by Vice-Chairman Greer, to convene to Closed Session, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-318. 11(a)(3) to consult with the County Attorney regarding a matter of potential litigation and according to N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(5) to instruct the public body's staff concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in evaluating the possible acquisition of 603, 613 and 621 Trails End Road and in negotiating the price and material terms of proposed contracts for real property. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. Chairman Caster convened to Closed Session at 4:08 p.m. CONVENE TO REGULAR SESSION Chairman Caster reconvened to Regular Session at 5: 15 p.m. and announced that the Board consulted with the County Attorney regarding a matter of potential litigation and instructed the public body's staff concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in evaluating the possible acquisition of 603, 613 and 621 Trails End Road and in negotiating the price and material terms of proposed contracts for real property and requested a motion from the Board. Motion: Vice-Chairman Greer MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Kopp, to authorize the County Manager to negotiate a buy/sell agreement for properties located at 603, 613 and 621 Trails End Road. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. ADJOURNMENT Hearing no further comments, Chairman Caster called for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion: Vice-Chairman Greer MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Kopp, to adjourn the meeting. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
