OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover
County hereby determines that it is necessary and in the public
interest to acquire an interest in certain real property owned by
Jean-Claude Corbi and wife, Nadia S. Corbi for the public purpose
stated in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference; and
WHEREAS to date, representatives of New Hanover County
have been unable to acquire the needed interest in this property
by negotiated conveyance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. New Hanover County is authorized to acquire by
condemnation, for the public purposes stated in Exhibit A, the
property and interest described in said Exhibit B.
2. The New Hanover County Attorney is authorized to
institute the necessary proceedings under Chapter 40A of the
North Carolina General Statutes to acquire the property interest
herein described.

Public Purpose:
The purpose for which the easement is being condemned
is for the public purpose of providing a sewage collection and
disposal system in the unincorporated area of New Hanover County,
North Carolina.

Property and Interest:
A sewer easement on the property of Jean-Claude Corbi
and wife, Nadia S. Corbi described in Deed Book 1334, Page 203
New Hanover County Registry, beginning at the common property
line between Lot D1 and Lot D2, as said tracts are shown on a
plot of East Sound View recorded in Map Book 25, page 176, New
Hanover County Registry, running the length of said lots 103. 80
feet. Said sewer easement having a total 30 foot width,
extending 15 feet in width on the east side of the D1 property
line and 15 feet in width on the west side of the D2 property
line; also running on the property of Jean-Claude Corbi and wife
Nadia S. Corbi described in Deed Book 1334, page 205, New Hanover
County Registry, beginning at the common property line between

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners met on July
23, 1990, and voted unanimously to donate surplus obsolete
computer equipment to Computer Funding Alliance of the Cape Fear
Area, Inc. in order to provide computer technology and training
to handicapped individuals who are not able to purchase the
. equipment for themselves.

executed copy to the Commissioners' office. If you have any
questions, do not hesitate to call.

and installing additional steel for roof overhang at west

RESOLUTION OF INTENT
TO CLOSE A PUBLIC ROAD
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed pursuant to N.C.G.S.
~153A-241, requesting the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover
County to close the following described public road:
Beginning at an old iron pipe where the western
line of Carolina Beach Road (U.S. Highway No. 421, a
160 foot right-of-way) is intersected by the northern
line of Grand Champion Road (a 60 foot right-of-way)
and the eastern line of a forty (40) foot unnamed road
that leads Northwardly from Carolina Beach Road; said
intersection being shown on the map of Section 1,
Equestrian Estates, dated December, 1977, recorded in
Map Book 18 at Page 66 of the New Hanover County
Registry; said pipe also being the southern corner of
the tract conveyed to Arnold L. Sobol and wife by Deed
recorded in Book 842 at Page 697 of said registry;
running thence from said beginning point north 14
degrees 02 1/2 minutes east along the eastern line of
said forty (40) foot road and the western line of said
sobol tract 929.86 feet to an iron pipe that is south
14 degrees 2 1/2 minutes west along said line 46.24
feet from an old stone, the southwestern corner of
Tract 4, of the Thomas Whitfield tract, said stone also
being the northwestern corner of said Sobol tract;
thence north 62 degrees 38 minutes west and parallel
with the northern line of said sobol tract 41.1 feet,
more or less, to a point in the western line of said
forty (40) foot road; thence south 14 degrees 02 1/2
minutes west along the western line of said road about
930 feet to its intersection with the northern line of
Grand Champion Road; thence eastwardly along the
northern line of Grand Champion Road as it curves to
the south to the point of beginning; the same being a
portion of the forty (40) foot road as shown on the map
of the J. H. McDonald Division recorded in Book 285 at
Page 304 1/2 of the New Hanover County Registry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board is
considering closing said road to public use, and that a public
hearing on this question will be held on the 4th day of
September, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. in the General Assembly Room of the
County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North
Carolina, at which time the Board will hear all interested
citizens and make a final determination as to whether the
unopened road shall be closed.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING OFFER TO PURCHASE SURPLUS
REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the offer to purchase certain parcels of real property owned
by New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington has been advertised for
upset bid in compliance with North Carolina General Statute 160A-269 and
pursuant to resolutions adopted by the City Council of the City of
Wilmington and the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County; and
WHEREAS, there have been no further qualifying upset offers entered for
the property described on the attached list within the statutory period
allowed by North Carolina General Statute 160A-269; and
WHEREAS, the offeror indicated on the attached list has agreed to pay
the amount indicated on the attached list for the parcels of real property
shown thereon; and
WHEREAS, the property is declared by the County Commissioners to be
surplus and not needed for public purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest and welfare to dispose of
this property in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-269, the County Commissioners do
hereby accept the offer to purchase as indicated on the attached
list from the offeror as indicated.
2. That New Hanover County will retain any deposit posted by offeror
as liquidated damages if .the offeror fails to pay the balance of
an approved offer due in cash within ten (10) days of receipt of a
notice by certified mail of availability of the deed of
conveyance.
3. That the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover
County be and is hereby authorized to execute a deed without
warranties to Jerry F. and Ann B. Hollifield as designated on the
attached list.
