RESOLUTION PROPOSING ACCEPTANCE OF OFFERS TO PURCHASE
SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, certain parcels of real property owned jointly by New Hanover County
and the City of Wilmington have been offered for sale pursuant to N.C.G.S.
160A-269; and
WHEREAS, the offeror indicated on the attached list has agreed to pay the
amounts indicated on the attached list for the parcels of real property shown; and
WHEREAS, the property is declared by the County Commissioners to be surplus
and not needed for public purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest and welfare to dispose of this
property in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-269, the County Commissioners propose to accept
the offer to purchase indicated on the attached list from the offeror as
indicated.
2. That the County of New Hanover and/or the City of Wilmington will retain any
deposit posted by an offeror when:
a. the offer is withdrawn after posting the deposit; or
b. the offeror fails to pay the balance of an approved offer, due in cash,
within ten (10) days of receipt of a notice by certified mail of
availability of the deed of conveyance.
3. That the County of New Hanover reserves the right to reject any and all
offers.
4. That the County of New Hanover will require the offeror to deposit five (5%)
percent of the offered prices immediately following adoption of this
resolution.
5. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners will publish a notice of the
offers as required by N.C.G.S. 160A-269.

REQUEST FOR ADDITION TO STATE MAINTAINED SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM

Road Description: Island Creek Drive in Island Creek Estates
(Division File #619-N)
WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of
County Commissioners of the County of New Hanover requesting that the
above described roads, the location of which has been indicated in red
on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that
the above described roads should be added to the Secondary Road System,
if the roads meet minimum standards and criteria established by the
Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation for the
addition of roads to the System.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
the County of New Hanover that the Division of Highways is hereby
requested to review the above described roads, and to take over the
road for maintenance if they meet established standards and criteria.
CERTIFICATE
The foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Board of
Comm~~i?ners of the County of New Hanover at a meeting on the/~day

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and
publicly opened by the Finance Department at 3:00 p.m. on the "4th
day of October, 1989 at the County Administration Building, 320
Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following
bids were received for Three (3) 1990 Ford Ambulances Type III
for the Emergency Medical Services Department Bid# FIN 89-0281:
Ashley Emergency Vehicles & Equipment, Inc.
First Response, Inc.
Wheeled Coach of N.C.
Universal Rescue Vehicles
$151,500.00
$164,565.00
$179,490.00
No Bid
AND WHEREAS, the Emergency Medical Services Department, the
Finance Director and the County Manager recommend that the
contract be awarded to Ashley Emergency Vehicles & Equipment,
Inc. of Jefferson, N. C., the lowest responsible bidder, in the
amount of One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($151,500.00) ;
AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are
now in or will be available in subsequent year's budget in
Account No. 110-433-4331-5940 to cover this contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of New Hanover County that the contract for Three
(3) 1990 Ford Ambulances Type III for the Emergency Medical
Services Department Bid# FIN 89-0281 be awarded to Ashley
Emergency Vehicles & Equipment, Inc., the lowest responsible
bidder, in the amount. of One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars ($151,500.00); and that the County is hereby
authorized and directed to execute the contract, contract form to
be approved by the County Attorney and bid deposit to be retained
until the successful bidder has executed and delivered the
contract and, if required, satisfactory bond.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent is hereby
authorized to return the bid deposits to the unsuccessful
bidders.
