RESOLUTION
OF THE
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, New Hanover County intends to construct and
maintain a parking lot, for use by the County Museum, on the east
side of Ninth Street, between Dock and Market Street, and
property owned by Wilmington Coca-Cola and the City of
Wilmington, and New Hanover County; and
WHEREAS, Wilmington Coca-Cola has agreed to convey its
interest in such property to the City and County in exchange for
a perpetual easement and right of way to be utilized jointly with
the County as a parking lot in conjunction with the Museum; and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County agrees to such an exchange
of property rights pursuant to N. C. G. S. 160A-271 as set forth
in a public notice published on November 11, 1988, a copy of
which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the above described
exchange of real property interest is hereby approved and
authorized.

PUBLIC NOTICE
TAKE NOTICE that New Hanover County intends to
construct and maintain a parking lot, for use by the County
Museum, on a portion of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 as shown on County
Tax Map No. 48-17-43, said site being more particularly described
as follows:
New Hanover County Museum Parking Lot-
Beginning at an iron pipe in the Northern line of Dock
Street and the Eastern line of Ninth street and runs
thence along the Eastern line of said Ninth street
North 05 degrees 37 minutes West 149.0 feet to a point
which is located South, 1 foot from the Southern line
of Meadow Street; thence, North 84 degrees 23 minutes
East 75 feet to a point; said point being located
Southwardly 1 foot from the Southern line of said
Meadow Street; thence South 05 degrees 37 minutes East,
149.0 feet to a point in the Northern line of Dock
Street thence along said Northern line of Dock Street
South 84 degrees 23 minutes West, 75 feet to the
beginning.
Wilmington Coca-Cola Bottling Works, Incorporated owns
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 5 and City of Wilmington and New Hanover County
own Lot 4. Wilmington Coca-Cola has agreed to convey, by deed,
to County and City, all of its interest in above described site
in exchange for its retention of a perpetual, full non-exclusive
joint right and easement utilized jointly with the County as a
parking lot in conjunction with the Museum. The value of
Coca-Cola Lots is $7400.00 and City-County Lot is $1850.00.
Wilmington City Council intends to authorize said exchange at its
regular meeting on November 22, 1988 and New Hanover County
Commission intends to authorize said exchange at its regular
meeting on November 21, 1988, all pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-271.

County by selecting an individual who best
exemplifies the characteristics necessary to
promote and carry out quality fire service
for the citizens of our area
* Nominee must be classified as volunteer
wi thin department a::; defined by the N. C.
Department of Insurance
* Any county or municipal department utilizing
volunteer personnel may be eligible to'
submit one nomination
* Must have been a member of department fo:!;"
three (3) years prior to date of application
* Must currently be listed on the department
roster
* Any individual receiving this award will be
ineligible to be nominated for a three ( 3 )
year period
* Award applications will be received by the
New Hanover .Cou~ty Board of Fire
Commissioners until January 30th of each
year. Application data should be limited to
facts relative to the applicant as of
December 31st of the previous year.
* Recipient shall be honored at the February
meeting of the New Hanover County Board of
Commissioners with an individual plaque
recognizing his service and an engraved
plaque permanently located in the New
Hanover County Courthouse.
* The nominating chief (or his designee) will
be responsible for documenting all training
