Two vacant board positions have been filled. Jeff Hamel, GE engineer replaces Sally Rochelle; Beth Quinn provides banking expertise. The Invention At Play Reception will be held on January 20 from 6:00-8:00 PM. All is going well in preparing for the Gala on February 5. Twenty new members have come from First Friday Jazz. Long Range Planning: The committee has not met per Ms. Griffith. Discussed future project as well as developing a research fee. Mr. Trask asked for any objections, and there being none, the deaccessions and loan was approved. Building and Grounds: Mr. Meier reported that the committee would be meeting on January 24. Ms. Haas discussed the proposed Facilities Design Master Plan. Discussions continued on the possibility of the CVB moving to the Museum. Marketing: Mr. Brooks reported the first joint meeting between the CFM and Associates Committees, which prioritized goals for the first year as follows: o 􀀨􀁑􀁆􀁒􀁘􀁕􀁄􀁊􀁈􀀃􀀦􀀹􀀥􀂶􀁖􀀃􀁕􀁈􀁏􀁒􀁆􀁄􀁗􀁌􀁒􀁑􀀃􀁗􀁒� �􀀰􀁘􀁖􀁈􀁘􀁐􀀃􀁖􀁌􀁗􀁈 o Seek opportunities for cooperative coupon & info distribution o Become a regular stop on the trolley route o Demonstrate why public should visit o Generate more funding for advertising o Target weekly vacation rentals with coupons The next next meeting will be on February 10, 2005 at 8:30 AM. 􀀧􀁌􀁕􀁈􀁆􀁗􀁒􀁕􀂶􀁖􀀃􀀵􀁈􀁓􀁒􀁕􀁗 Ms. Haas reported she is in the process of preparing the budget for 2005-2006 based on the same allocation as last year. A request for two new positions has been submitted, specifically in the Education and Exhibits Departments. The Azalea Festival Past Presidents Reception will be held at the Museum this year. The Junior League has granted the Museum a $5,000 grant as well as one day of volunteer support to implement improvements to the Learning Center.
