The meeting did not reach a quorum. Approval of Minutes: Minutes from the January 19, 2005 meeting will be held for approval at the March meeting. Consideration of Absences: Of those absent, Bill Terrell was excused. John Haley and Scott Brooks were later excused. 􀀦􀁋􀁄􀁌􀁕􀁐􀁄􀁑􀂶􀁖􀀃􀀵􀁈􀁓􀁒􀁕� �􀀝 Don Fishero Don was not at the January meeting; therefore a detailed report was not submitted. He did report that things are very busy at the Museum. Associates Report: Jack Mills The gala fundraiser was a very successful with about $25,000 net. Membership is reviewing benefits to provide incentives to join at higher levels. The pre-feasibility study schedule was reviewed with respect to anticipated needs of capital projects. Long Range Planning: Ann Griffith Ann will be contacting the committee members within the next week. Minutes Advisory Board Meeting February 16, 2005 CFM Advisory Board Minutes Page 2 February 16, 2005 Education: Chris Abrons The committee met on February 10. Chris Abrons discussed the various upcoming programs and gave an update on the exhibits, specifically the new Invention At Play. Handouts were distributed to the board members as back up to her report. Building and Grounds: Tanky Meier The committee met on January 27. Tanky Meier suggested that the board members conduct a walk-through of the facility after the report was given. Ruth Haas gave an overview of the meeting, specifically that a request for qualifications for the Facilities Master Plan was submitted to five architect firms. The due date for the qualifications is March 4, 2005. Phases II and III of the Exhibits Design Master Plan were reviewed by the committee. Bruce Bowman submitted a proposal for $12,000-$14,000. Ruth has attempted to contact him to clarify the amount. Marketing/Membership/Fund Raising Don Fishero gave a brief overview as Jack Mills had addressed these topics in the Associates Report. Budget Preparation/Advocacy Issues 􀂱 Ruth Haas Ruth Haas reported that consideration for two new positions have been submitted to the County. Capital projects were discussed in the Associates Report. GSMC Advocacy Day will be held in Raleigh on Wednesday, April 13, 2005. Ruth will be attending and invited board members to also participate if possible. She gave an overview of the agenda with the NC Legislature for the day. New Business There being no new business the meeting was adjourned at 4:55 PM. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March16, 2005 at 4:00 PM in the North Gallery, Cape Fear Museum.
