RESOLUTION
OF THE
'BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, Historic Wilmington Foundation has requested
New Hanover County donate a lot on south side of Grace Street
between Fourth and Fifth Street identified on County Tax Map as
Parcel No. 16, Block 14, to the Foundation, for purpose of moving
a house onto the lot, renovating said house according to Historic
District standards and then selling said improved lot, and
WHEREAS, New Hanover County is authorized by N.C.G.S.
~160A-266(b) to dispose of real property by private negotiation
and sale to a non-profit corporation whose purposes include the
preservation of real properties of architectural, archaeological,
artistic, cultural, historical, natural or scenic significance;
such conveyance to be subject to statutory conditions, covenants
and restrictions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that New Hanover County,
pursuant to N.C.G.S. Chapter 160A, Article 12, authorizes and
directs (1 (). Ir'{ ~Ci-Y \it +6 to dispose of the County owned lot
designated as Parcel. No. 16, Block 14, by private ~ale to
Historic Wilmington Foundation, at a negotiated price and to
convey title by deed containing the required covenants and
conditions.

WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly
opened by Centralized Purchasing, at 3:00 o'clock p.m. on the 30th day of
December 198~ at City Hall, 102 North 3rd Street, Wilmington, North
Carolina, and the following bids were received for two (2) Type II
Ambulances:
Southern Ambulance Builders
Ashley Emergency Vehicles
$66,764.00
$61,760.00
AND WHEREAS, Centralized Purchasing, the Emergency Services Department,
the Finance Director and the County Manager recommend that the contract be
awarded to Ashley Emergency Vehicles, Jefferson, N. C., the lowest
responsible bidder, in the amount of Sixty-One Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty
Dollars and No Cents ($61,760.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
New Hanover County that the. contract for two (2) Type II Ambulances, Bid No.
NHC 42-1286 be awarded to Ashley Emergency Vehicles, Jefferson, N. C., in
the amount of Sixty-One Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty Dollars and No Cents
($61,760.00); and that the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners or
the County Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract
on behalf of New Hanover County, contract form to be approved by the County
Attorney and bid deposit to be retained until the successful bidder has
executed and delivered the contract and, if required, satisfactory bond.
