PAGE 13S3 0781 BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN THE MATTER OF RENAMING JOHNSON LANDING ROAD (SR 1521) ORDINANCE 76 It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County that consideration has been given to the renaming of Johnson Landing Road, located in Masonboro Township commencing at the Piner/Myrtle Grove Road intersection extending southeast approximately 3,050' to termination with Myrtle Grove Sound and recorded as part of Deed Book 1202, Page 1453 et al and it further appearing that a public hearing was held on Monday, April 6, 1987 at which time all persons were heard on the question of whether or not the renaming would be in the public interest, and it further appearing that notice of said hearing was transmitted to all resident owners and prominently posted in at least two (2) locations along said road, and published in the Star News local newspaper, and the Board of County Commissioners-rs-of the opinion that said road in New Hanover County should be renamed and the renaming of same is in the public interest, the description of which is delineated on the attached exhibit. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AND DECREED that the above described road is hereby named Peden Point Road. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a copy of this ordinance be recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of New Hanover County, North Carolina, and that notice of the action taken by the Board of County Commissioners be transmitted to the postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, the North Carolina Board of Transportation and to any city within five (5) miles of said road in accordance with N.C. NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEPARn1ENT OF TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FOR ADDITION TO STATE MAINTAINED SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM North Carolina County of New Hanover Road Description Manchester Drive, in A Portion of Spring Branch Road and Kings Grant and Spring View Subdivisions (Div.File #548-N) WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of New Hanover requesting that the above de- scribed road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the oplnlon that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to the Sys tern. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commiss'ioners of the County of New Hanover that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to revi ew the above des cri bed road, and to take over the road. for ma i ntenance if it meets established standards and criteria. A. A. in the amount of $47,500 has been offered to New Hanover County for the purpose of acquiring a security patrol vehicle and security patrol equipment. WHEREAS, an amount equal to or greater than the required participation funding levels has been provided by New Hanover County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CHAIRMAN of the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County is hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, thereby binding the County to fulfill its obligations incurred under the grant agreement or any mutually agreed modification thereof. ( (~d ~ ~ d7'\ RK TO THE BOARD ,. RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO CLOSE A PUBLIC ROAD WHEREAS, a petition has been filed pursuant to G. S. 153A-241, requesting the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County to clos~ the following described public road: Being the remaining portion of Jackson Street (50 foot right-of-way) in Federal Point Township, beginning at the intersection with Settlers Lane and extending northwest approximately 700 feet to termination and properly referenced in Map Book 4, Page 52 (Battle Ground Park) of the New Hanover County Registry. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board is considering closing said road to public use, and that a public hearing on this question will be held on the 4th day of May, 1987 at 7 o'clock p.m. in the Assembly Room of the County Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, at which time the Board will hear all interested citizens and make a final determination as to whether the unopened road shall be closed. New Hanover County (County) is engaged in the construction of Cell #3 at the Landfill, which capital project involves the construction and/or acquisition of capital assets. 2. County desires to authorize and budget for said capital project in a project ordinance adopted pursuant to North Carolina General statute ~159-13.2, such ordinance to authorize all appro- priations necessary for the completion of said project. NOW, THEREFORE, WITNESSETH THAT: 1. This project ordinance is adopted pursuant to North Carolina General Statute ~159-13.2. 2 . The capital project undertaken pursuant to this ordinance is the construction of Cell #3 at the Landfill, which project is herewith authorized. 3. The revenue that will finance said project is: Transfer from Landfill Operating $1,176,000 TOTAL $1,176,000 4. The following appropriations necessary for the project are herewith made from the revenue listed above: Engineering $ 176,000 Contingency $1,000,000 TOTAL $1,176,000 5. This project ordinance shall be entered ~n the minutes of of the Board of Commissioners.
