GREETINGS: • .
The three above cases coming on for hearing at the October, 1964, Criminal
Term of Superior Court of New Hanover County and being consolidated for the purpose of
trial, each growing out of the same subject matter, and it appearing to-the Court that
each of the defendants is indicted for the capital crime of Murder in -the First Degree,
and that'the Solicitor for the State having announced that each of said defendants will
be giaced on trial for his life, and
It appearing to the Court, and the Court finding as a fact, that it will be
necessary, to insure the rights of,each of said defendants, to summons a panel of Surors
special venire in addition Eo those already summonsed as regular jurors,

? IT IS, NOW, ORDERED THAT the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners
of New Hanover County be and appear in the Superior Court Room or some one under his
authority, and have with'him Jury Box No. 1 at 2:00 P. M. o'clock on the fif.th day of
October, 1964, and that he, with the Clerk of this Court, shall then and there proceed
to have drawn from.said Box No. 1, containing the scrolls of jurors, by a child under
the age of ten years, 100 scrolls of jurors, the same to sonstitute a Special Venire from
which to select jurors for the trial of these causes, and that a list of such jurors so
drawn shall be prepared and delivered to the Sheriff of New Hanover County for immediate
service to be and appear in the Court Room of the 5uperior Court of New Hanover County
at 9:30 o'clociC At. M. on Tuesday, October the 6th, 1964 and IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said Sheriff of New Hanover Count?y shall forth-
with summons, or caused to be summonsed, the persons whose names appearupon the afore-
said list, to be and appear at the day and hour hereinbefore set forth to act as Jurors
in the trial of said causes, if chosen, sworn and empanelled, returning to the Clerk of
this Court said list. •

ORDER FOR SPECIAL VENIRE.
A Specfal Venire of 100 having been summonsed?4 ?rg and appear at the Court
House in Wilmington, Atew Hanover County, North Carolin A:?i?l? this sixth day of October
in the abode entitled cases which have been consolidated to the end that the rights of
each of the above named defendants might be insured, this being.a case wherein the defend-
ants are indicted for a cepital offense, to-wit Murder in the First Degree, and it now
appearing to the Court that an additionai number of prospective jurors will be needed, it
is,
NOW, ORDERED That the Chairman of the Board,of County Commissioners of New
Hanover County, or someone under his authority be and appear in the Court Room of New Hanover
County forthwith and have with him Jury Box No. 1, and that he, with the Clerk of this Cour.t
shall then and there proceed to have drawn from said Box No. 1, containing the scrolls of
jurors, by a child under the age of ten years, 60 additional scrolls of 3urors, the same to
constitute an additional special venire from which to-sel.ect jurors for the trial of these
causes, and that a list of such jurors so drawn shall be prepared and deliVered to the Sheriff
of New Hanover County for immediate service to be and appear in the Court Room of the Super-
ior Court of New Hanover County at 9:30 A. M., o'clock on Wednesday, October 7th, 1964 and
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said Sheriff of New Hanover CounLy shall forthwith
summons, or caused to be summonsed, the persons whose names appear upon the aforesaid list,
to be and appear at the day and hour hereinbefore set forth to act as Jurors in the trial
of said causes, if chosen, sworn and empanelled, returning to the Cle.rk of this Court said
