BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

WHEREAS New Hanover County's policies for Growth and
,:
Development stipulate that adequate public recreational
facilities will be provided and maintained in proportion to area
needs; and
WHEREAS public access to the area's natural
recreational amenities such as the oceans, rivers, and sounds is
a basic right of all residents; and
WHEREAS various streets in New Hanover County have been
dedicated to the public use by the recordation of a subdivision
plat or other map; and
WHEREAS G.S. 153A-158 author izes counties to acquire a
fee or lesser interest in real property by gift, grant or other
lawful method; and
WHEREAS New Hanover County desires to accept the offe~
of dedication of one such street for the public purpose of
providing beach access;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

opened by Centralized Purchasing at 3:00 o'clock p,m, on the 25th day of
April 1986 at City Hall. 102 North 3rd Street. Wilmington, North Carolina,

Fifteen Dollars ($103,515,00);
AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in

NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
New Hanover County that the contract for One (1) Landfill Compactor Bid No,
NHC 50-386, be awarded to Gregory Poole Equipment Company. Wilmington. N, C,
in the amount of One Hundred Three Thousand Five Hundred Fifteen Dollars
(103.515,00); and that the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners or
the County Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract
on behalf of New Hanover County, contract form to be approved by the County
Attorney and bid deposit to be retained until the successful bidder has

requirements for specific items listed on North Carolina State Contracts;
AND WHEREAS. the City of Wilmington is party to the State Contract
Number 250-15 for computer equipment;
AND WHEREAS. the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County have entered
into an Interlocal Purchasing Agreement;
AND WHEREAS, as funds are available for the purchase of five (5) IBM
Personal Computers. in Account Number 1100 530 5310 6400. in the amount of
$16.814,]0;
AND WHEREAS, Centralized Purchasing. the Department of Social Services.
the Finance Director and the County Manager recommend the purchase of IBM
computers be awarded to the IBM Corporation in the amount of Sixteen
Thousand Eight Hundred Fourteen and 70/100 Dollars ($16.814,70),
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
New Hanover County that Centralized Purchasing is authorized to order five
