WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance Department at 3 :00
p.rn., on the 26th day of August, 1997, at the County Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North
Carolina, and the following bids were received for the purchase of a loaderlbackhoe and the sale of surplus equipment
(JBC loaderlbackhoe, model 3CX Sitemaster, serial number 329353) as a trade-in, Bid # 98-0007:

AND WHEREAS, the County Engineer, the Finance Director and the CoUnty Manager recommend that the.
contract be awarded to North Carolina Equipment Company of Wilmington, North Carolina, the lowest responsible
bidder, in the net amount of Thirty-eight Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-nine Dollars ($38,839.00);
AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in Account No. 800-470-4197-6400
to cover this contract;
AND WHEREAS, a budget amendment is submitted for approval to budget the revenue received from the sale
of the surplus equipment as trade-in;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District Board of
Commissioners that the contract for the purchase of a loaderlbackhoe and the sale as trade-in of surplus equipment for
the Water Sewer District, Bid # 98-0007 be awarded to North Carolina Equipment Company in the net amount of
Thirty-eight Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-nine Dollars ($38,839.00); the budget amendment budgeting the revenue
received is approved, and that the District is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract, contract form to be
approved by the County Attorney.
