RESOLUTION
OF THE
WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance
Department at 4:00 p.m., on the 18th day of April, 2000, at the County Administration Building,
320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following bid was received for hurricane
protection services for the Water and Sewer District, Bid # 00-0339:
Aggreko Inc.:
Availability fee
$4,500.00
AND WHEREAS, the contract will ensure that pre-selected generator units will be available
to District on an as needed basis and if generators are needed, contract establishes weekly rental rates
for each type of unit; District will pay a yearly availability fee to have the pre-selected generators
available during hurricane season;
AND WHEREAS, the rental proposal availability fee for the District will be four thousand
five hundred dollars and no cents ($4,500.00);
AND WHEREAS, the County Engineer, the Finance Director; and the County Manager
recommend that the contract be awarded to Aggreko, Inc., a foreign corporation organized under the
laws of the state of Louisiana, the only responsible bidder, rental proposal availability fee of four
thousand five hundred dollars and no cents ($4,500.00);
AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in Account
No. 800-470-4197-3700 to cover this contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the District Board of Commissioners of New
Hanover County that the contract for a hurricane protection services for the Water and Sewer
District, Bid # 00-0339 be awarded to Aggreko, Inc., rental proposal availability fee of four
thousand five hundred dollars and no cents ($4,500.00); and that the County is hereby authorized
and directed to execute contract # 00-0339B, contract form to be approved by the County Attorney.

WHEREAS, after due advertisement, bids were received and publicly opened by the Finance
Department at 11 :00 a.m., on the 4th day of April, 2000, at the County Administration Building,
320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, and the following bids were received for chemicals for
the Water and Sewer District, Bid # 00-0319:
Amerochem Corporation
Southchem, Inc.
$33,730.15
$ 5,655.00 (Did not bid on allfour sections)
AND WHEREAS, Amerochem Corporation was the only bidder to bid on all four sections ofthe
bid;
AND WHEREAS, Southchem, Inc. has requested their bid proposal be removed from
consideration due to errors in their proposal;
AND WHEREAS, the County Engineer, the Finance Director, and the County Manager
recommend that the contract be awarded to Amerochem Corporation, a North Carolina corporation, the
only responsible bidder, at the unit prices as quoted in proposal, estimated annual expenditure to be
thirty-three thousand seven hundred thirty dollars and fifteen cents ($33,730.15);
AND WHEREAS, funds have been previously appropriated and are now in or will be in
subsequent year's budget Account No. 800-470-4197-4210 to cover this contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED by the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District
Board of Commissioners that the contract for water chemicals, Bid # 00-0319 be awarded to Amerochem
Corporation, at the unit prices as quoted in their proposal, estimated annual expenditure to be thirty-three
thousand seven hundred thirty dollars and fifteen cents ($33,730.15); and that the District is hereby
authorized and directed to execute contract # 00-0319, contract form to be approved by the County
Attorney.

AND WHEREAS, all bids received were higher than budget estimates and the County
Engineer, the Finance Director and the County Manager recommend that the bids be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the District Board of Commissioners of New
Hanover County that the bids received for a manhole suction unit for the Water and Sewer District,
bid # 00-0153 be rejected
