WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County
Commissioners of the County of New Hanover requesting that the above de-
scribed road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached
map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the
above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the
road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of
Highways of the Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to
the System.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of
the County of New Hanover that the Division of Highways is hereby requested
to review the above described road, and to take over the road for maintenance
if it meets established standards and criteria.

A RESOLUTION
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS,
the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover
County, at its regular meeting on March 21, 1983, adopted a
resolution authorizing the New Hanover County Finance Officer to
sell and dispose of the following described personal property by
private sale, at the negotiated prices and to the purchasers
indicated, as follows:
1. 1967 Gallion Motor Grader Serial #MB2l525 (Inoperable);
to Leroy Harker at the price of $1,000.00.
2. 1954 MBl Fire Truck Serial #USN7l-00936 (Inoperable);
to Leroy Harker at the price of $200.00.
3. One Craftsman Table Saw (Operable but below OSHA
standards); to John R. Sikes at the price of $25.00.
and
WHEREAS, the only item which was sold was Item 2, the
1954 MBl Fire Truck, Serial #USN7l-0936, as upset bids were
received by the County for Items 1 and 3, and
WHEREAS, due to the receipt of upset bids and inability
to reach an agreed sales price, the sale of Items 1 and 3 was not
completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all bids heretofore
received for Items 1 and 3 above are hereby rejected; that the
New Hanover County Finance Officer shall dispose of said Items 1
and 3 at public auction, and, more specifically, said Finance
Officer shall sell:

2. One Craftsman Table Saw (Operable but below OSHA
standards) ;
at public auction on the 19th day of May, 1983, at 10:00 o'clock
a.m. at the New Hanover County Garage, located on the premises of
the-New Hanover County Airport.

RESOLUTION
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, the New Hanover County Airport, owned by New
Hanover County, is an extensive aeronautical complex, consisting
of improvements and vacant areas, and from time to time New
Hanover County leases portions of this property when said
property is not needed by the County for the term of the lease;
and
WHEREAS, AUCTION SYSTEMS, INC., a Maryland corporation
with offices at Cedarville Road and Route 301, Box 983, Waldorf,
Maryland 20601, through its agent, Charles E. Knell, Jr., Sales
Department, is seeking a lease agreement for the following
described area of the Airport:
The "fenced-in" maintenance area bounded on the South
by Hewlett Drive, on the West by Gardner Drive, and on
the North and East by drainage ditches.
and
WHEREAS, this area is vacant and unoccupied except for
County storage garages and other related buildings, and said
proposed Lessee will utilize only the vacant area for the purpose
of parking and storing heavy industrial equipment, which it plans
to offer for sale at a public auction sometime in May, 1983,
during the term of the proposed lease; and
WHEREAS, AUCTION SYSTEMS, INC., has requested to rent
this area for a period of twenty-three (23) days, beginning the
9th day of May, 1983, through and including the 31st day of May,
1983, at a rental of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per day, and
has deposited the sum of Two Thousand Three Hundred Dollars
($2,300.00) with the Airport Manager and requests that such offer
of lease or rental be accepted by New Hanover County; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Manager finds that such activity
will not interfere with or impair Airport or other County
operations and recommends that the Board of Commissioners approve
such an agreement and authorize the New Hanover County Airport
Commission to enter into such an agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Commissioners of New Hanover County has determined that the
vacant area in the above described tract of real property will
not be needed by New Hanover County for the period beginning May

9, 1983, through ~1ay 31, 1983, and does hereby authorize the New
Hanover County Airport Commission to enter into a lease for said
vacant premises, with AUCTION SYSTEMS, INC., for said period, for
~he rental of Two Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($2,300.00).
