It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of New Hanover County
that consideration has been given to the renaming of Cherry Avenue (#40603)
located northeast of Santa rlaria Avenue intersecting with Oak Avenue in the
Santa r~aria subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 4, Page 28 recorded in July
1926.
and it further aopearing that a public hearing was held on the 16 day of
May , 1983, at which time all persons were heard on the question
of whether or not the renaming would be in the public interest, and it
further appearing that notice of said hearing was transmitted to all
adjacent property owners and prominently posted in at least three (3)
locations along said road, and the Board of County Commissioners is of
the ooinion that said public road in New Hanover County should be renamed
and the renaming of same is in the public interest, the description of
which is delineated on the attached exhibit.
ORDINANCE
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED AND DECREED that the above described
road is hereby named WILD CHERRY LANE.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a copy of this ordinance be recorded in the
office of the Register of Deeds of New Hanover County, North Carolina, and
that notice of the action taken by the Board of County Commissioners be
transmitted to the postmaster having jurisdiction over the road, the North
Carolina Board of Transportation and to any city within five (5) miles of
said road in accordance with N. C. General Statute 153A-240. '

May , 1983, at which time all persons were heard on the question
of whether or not the renaming would be in the public interest, and it

the opinion that said public road in New Hanover County should be renamed

RESOLUTION OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, Article 6, Chapter 162A of the North Carolina
General Statutes, as amended, provides that the board of commis-
sioners of any county may create a county water and sewer
district; and
WHEREAS, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners
adopted a resolution on the 18th day of April, 1983, expressing
its intention to utilize said county water and sewer district
concept and by notice called for a public hearing to consider
this matter at its regular meeting on the 16th day of May, 1983,
at 9:00 a.m., in the County Commissioners' Assembly Room, 320
Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, said notice having
been published once a week for three weeks in the Wilmington
Morning Star and posted in at least three public places in the
district described in said notice; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing to consider the formation
of said county water and sewer district was held on Monday, May
16, 1983, at a regular meeting of the New Hanover County Board of
Commissioners and the Board of Commissioners having heard from
all interested persons, including the general public and staff
members, and after discussion, the Board of Commissioners finds
as a fact that there is a demonstrable need for providing sewer
services in the district hereinafter described,
that the
residents of such territory will benefit from the district's
creation, and that it is economically feasible to provide sewer
services in said district without unreasonable or burdensome

annual tax levies: and
WHEREAS, there are no cities or towns or incorporated
municipalities in whole or in part within the district which is
hereinafter described: and
WHEREAS, the territory to be embraced by and be within
the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District is as follows:
All of the unincorporated area of New Hanover County
lying and being North of Snow's Cut and Carolina Beach
Inlet and bounded as follows:
On the North by Pender County, on the South by Snow's
Cut and Carolina Beach Inlet, on the East by the
Atlantic Ocean and the Town of Wrightsville Beach, and
on the West by the Cape Fear River and the City of
Wilmington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the New Hanover
County Board of Commissioners that a county water and sewer
district be and the same is hereby created, to be known as the
New Hanover County Water and Sewer District and, BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this resolution be published once in each of two
successive weeks in the Wilmington Morning Star: and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory to be
included and embraced within the New Hanover County Water and
Sewer District is as follows:

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed pursuant to G.S. 153A-24l,
requesting the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County t~
close the following described public road:
A part of Basin Road, located in Basin View Development, 'Caro-
lina Beach running from a line drawn from the southwestern corn~r of
Lot 10 in Block B to ~he southeastern corner of Lot 25 in Block.A of
Basin View Development (Map Book 7, Page 48) for a distance of 250
feet to its termination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board is considering
closing said road to public use, and that a public hearing on this
question will be held on the 20th day of June, 1983, at 9:00 o'clock
a. m. ln the Assemb~y Room of the County Administration Building,
320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, at which time the
Board will hear all interested citizens and make a final det'ermination
as to whether the unopened road shall be closed.
