. WHEREAS, the need exists for a commitment toward providing a
new terminal complex as recommended in the 1979 New Hanover
County Airport Master Plan update, and
WHEREAS, based on the submittal of the pre-applications and
receipt of requested funds, design and construction of the
terminal building and related landside improvements not covered
by grant funding would be conducted concurrently with the Federal
and State funded items:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Hanover County
Board of Commissioners at the request of the New Hanover County
Airport Commission plans to make pre-application for federal
grant funds for the constructio'n of a new terminal complex at New
Hanover County Airport. .
Adopted by unanimous vote, this 20th day of October, 1983.

AN ORDINANCE
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF
NEW HANOVER COUNTY
The Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County, North
Carolina, in order to allow time for the Board to study and
discuss the Hurricane Protection Plan being prepared by County
staff, does hereby ordain that Section 5-56 of the New Hanover
County Code of Ordinances, originally adopted on August 1, 1983,
is amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 5-56. tc10RA'l'ORIUIYI ON CONSTRUCTION ON BARRIER ISLANDS
"No building or grading permit shall be issued by the
inspections department or engineering department to any
person for any construction on a barrier island subject to
New Hanover County's zoning jurisdiction for and during the
period from August 1, 1983, through and including December
1, 1983;
"PROVIDED that such permits can be issued for construc-
tion on any barrier island which, on the effective date of
this ordinance, is developed at a density greater than one
of land area."
