1980-10-06 RM Exhibits NOVER COUNTY -:-,.....--~- ...-~ WILMINGTON, N.C. Recommend that bid submitted by American Uniform Sales Inc. be accented to furnish uniforms for Sheriff's Department in accordance with bid {f=08-80. Their bid is the lowest one which meets the specifications. Stennette Uniform Sales Inc. was the lowest overall bid, however all items were higher than American except the trousers, which do not meet the bid specifications. The trousers which StenTIettebidd~d on for $23.50 are not the same trousers hidded on by Hub, Franks and American. These trousers only cost them approximately $16.00 per pro and are basically a stock item and not a custom made to measure item as specified in bid. The trousers the others biqded on, which meet bid specifications, actually cost them $31.85 per pair. If Stennette bidded on the same trousers as the other bidders, their bid would probably be $2,000 higher than the next lower bid. Based on above information, I would request thatStennettes bid be totally rejected and bid submitted by American be accepted.
