HomeMy WebLinkAboutOctober 2 PB Agenda - DRAFT New Hanover County Planning Department ____________________ New Hanover County Government Center 230 Government Center Drive, Suite 150 Wilmington, NC 28403 P 910.798.7165 F 910.798.7053 Chris O’Keefe Planning Director NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NEW HANOVER COUNTY PLANNING BOARD OCTOBER 2, 2008 The New Hanover County Planning Board will hold public hearings on Thursday, October 2, 2008 beginning at 5:30 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, 24 North Third Street (corner of Third and Princess Street), Room 301 in Wilmington, NC to consider the following items: Approval of the September Planning Board Meeting Minutes Item 1: Text Amendment (A-371, 5/08) – Request by staff to amend Article II: Definitions and Article VII: Provisions for Special Uses to define and specify standards for senior housing options. The change would define and differentiate between active adult retirement communities, continuing care communities, assisted living/personal care facilities, and nursing homes. Item 2: Text Amendment (A-375, 10/08) – Request by staff to amend Section 59.9-6 to clarify the approval and modification process for Riverfront Mixed Use projects. The change would clarify that major changes to the approved site plan would require a new hearing and approval by the County Commissioners. Item 3: Conditional Rezoning (Z-890, 10/08) – Request by Cornelia Nixon Davis, Inc. to add 2.9 acres to an existing conditional CD(O&I) district and to modify the approved site plan at 1011 Porter’s Neck Road. The change would increase the size of the CD(O&I) to about 27 acres and would add living and rehab spaces to the existing facility. It would also reposition and rebuild the offices and dispensary. Current CD(O&I) was approved under Z-454 in 1992. Technical Review Committee Report (September) The Planning Board may consider substantial changes in these petitions as a result of objections, debate, and discussion at the meeting, including rezoning to other classifications.
