YES has served 580 youth and families to date this FY with 109 active in services
Community Service & Restitution Program
– 222 (184 newly admitted)
Level II CSR Dispositional Alternatives Grant – 29
Juvenile Psychological Services –182 (162 newly admitted)
JPS Conducted 26 Suicide Risk Assessments
Prosocial
Development Services – 147 (140 newly admitted)
Community Justice Services is a new Department that was created to combine Youth Empowerment Services, Drug Court Services and the Pretrial
Release program in order to centralize the related services to provide the most efficient operations regarding Community Justice in New Hanover County
Formally being presented Thursday,
05/17 as part of the recommended FY 12/13 Budget at the agenda review meeting
Department will have 3 Divisions – Youth Empowerment Services, Adult Enhancement Services and Support
Services
Department will have 24 FTE positions
YES director will be new director
Budget will be combined budget of three entities approximately 1.6 million

YES Advisory Board Chair to write an official letter to Board of Commissioners and copy the County Clerk stating the recommendation for disbanding and allowing new department
to fold into already established entities that provide regulation, monitoring, oversight, and advisement such as the NC Department of Public Safety’s Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
that meets bimonthly as a monitoring and advisory entity; and DTC has the NC state mandated Local Management Committee that meets biannually and PTR & DTC have the Qtrly Judicial Issues
