Harrell Conference Room of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to hear appeals by property owners regarding their 2012 tax value assessments. Members present for the 1 PM Session were: Don Harris (Chairman), John Babb (Interim Chairman for Tab #14), William O'Shea, and Linda Woods. Members present for the 6 PM Session were: John Babb (Interim Chairman), Bob Drach, and William O'Shea. Staff members present were: Tax Administrator Roger Kelley; Appraisers Larry Bolick, Chris Boney, Jim Hardin, and Scott Saunders; and, Appraisal Administrative Support Technician Cassandra Fowler. Chairman Don Harris called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. AGENDA ITEM # 1: Approval of Minutes There was no discussion by the Board on this agenda item. AGENDA ITEM # 2: Old Business On August 20, 2012, the Board made the decision to table the appeal for Andrew Simmons Jr., property owner of 6317 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC; Parcel ID R05616- 001 - 013 -000, to have the appraiser confirm the data via a site inspection. The county appraiser came back before the Board today and reported that the owner had sent him a receipt from the demolition company dated January 30, 2011, showing that the structure had been removed from the lot. However, the New Hanover County Planning and Inspections Department has the official date of removal as January 30, 2012. The county appraiser recommended leaving the building in place within the appraisal database effective for 2012 due to the Planning and Inspections Department records.
