BOE Meeting-August 9, 2012 FinalNEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW, August 9, 2012 ASSEMBLY BOOK PAGE The 2012 New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review met on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. in the Lucie F. Harrell Conference Room of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to hear appeals by property owners regarding their 2012 tax value assessments. Members present for the AM Session were: John Babb (Interim Chairman), Linda Woods, and Bob Drach. Staff members present were: Tax Administrator Roger Kelley; Assistant Tax Administrator Jeff Niebauer; Appraisers Chuck Davis, Chris Boney, Thomas Harris, Scott Saunders, Larry Bolick, James Paulk, and Jim Hardin; and, Appraisal Administrative Support Technician Cassandra Fowler. During the lunch recess, appraiser Chris Boney brought the following parcel before the Board for review: Charles Allen Avera Trust, 304 Causeway Dr., Wrightsville Beach, NC; Parcel ID R05719- 003 -028- 002. The Board had previously tabled this parcel on August 7, 2012, due to a heated square footage disagreement. However, since the Board members who originally heard the appeal on August 7, 2012, were not in attendance, the Board requested that the parcel be rescheduled under the Old Business agenda item on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, during the AM Session. 2. Linda Woods requested, again, that she be provided with a hard copy binder for future hearings. Mr. Niebauer informed Ms. Woods that a hard copy of the Board book would be made available to her, but only for the sessions that she was scheduled. In the event of last minute attendance, she would have to use the web format. Ms. Woods agreed. AGENDA ITEM # 7: New Business There was no discussion by the Board on this agenda item.
