A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the National Campers and Hikers Association is
entering its 30th year, and
WHEREAS, family camping encourages the conservation of our
natural beauty and wise use of our resources for better outdoor
recreation, and
WHEREAS, family camping stimulates public interest in and
enjoyment of our great outdoors, and
WHEREAS, the National Campers and Hikers Association is
conducting its National Family Camping Month during May,
N04J, THEREFORE, we the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover
County, do hereby proclaim May, 1978 as
FAMILY CAMPING MONTH
and request all citizens to observe this occasion by extending
every courtesy and cordial welcome to visitors and guests as they
come to enjoy camping in our area
