MINUTES OF THE 1992 BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW
ASSEMBLY
The 1992 Board of Equalization & Review met in Regular Session
on Tuesday, April 21, 1992, at 10:00 A.M. in the Assembly Room of
the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street,
wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: Commissioners Jonathan Barfield, Sr.;
Fred Retchin; William H. Sutton; Vice-Chairman Robert G. Greer;
Chairman E. L. Mathews, Jr.; Deputy County Manager, Mary Gornto;
County Attorney, Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk to the Board, Lucie F.
Harrell.
DESIGNATION OF E. L. MATHEWS, JR. AS CHAIRMAN OF THE 1992 BOARD OF
EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW
Motion: Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner
Sutton, to designate Chairman E. L. Mathews, Jr. as the Chairman of
the 1992 Board of Equalization and Review. Upon vote, the MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
PRESENTATION OF WRITTEN APPEALS AND ENTRY INTO THE RECORD
Tax Administrator, Roland Register, provided the Clerk with
the following list of property owners who have submitted written
appeals as required by State Statute:

Motion: Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Chairman Mathews,
to accept appeals until 5:00 P.M. today. Upon vote, the MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
INDIVIDUAL HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 15, 1992
Chairman Mathews requested scheduling individual hearings for
Friday, May 15, 1992, at 10:00 A.M.
Motion: Commissioner Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner
Barfield, to schedule hearings for Tax Appeals to be heard before
the 1992 Board of Equalization and Review on Friday, May 15, 1992,
at 10: 00 A.M. in the First Floor Assembly Room of the County
Administration Building, 320 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, N. C.
Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Retchin MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner
Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Chairman Mathews adjourned the meeting at 10:09 A.M. until the
next scheduled meeting on May 15, 1992, at 10:00 A.M.
