ASSEMBLY
The New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review held a meeting on June 5,
2000, at 7:53 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third
Street, Wilmington, North Carolina.
Members present were: Commissioner Buzz Birzenieks; Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr;
Commissioner Charles R. Howell; Chairman William A Caster; County Manager, Allen O'Neal;
County Attorney, Wanda M. Copley; and Clerk to the Board, Lucie F. Harrell.
Chairman Caster called the meeting to order and announced that Vice-Chairman Robert G.
Greer was absent due to the death of his Aunt who lives in Delaware. He also announced that the
Cypress Green, Inc. hearing should be deleted from the agenda since the appeal was not received in
a timely fashion. This appeal will be heard at the Board of Equalization and Review meeting
scheduled for June 20,2000.
Chairman Caster requested Tax Administrator Robert Glasgow to comment on the list of
appeals.
Tax Administrator Glasgow reported that since the list was prepared, the following taxpayers
have requested to withdraw their appeals:

Tax Administrator Glasgow requested the Board of Equalization and Review to accept the
withdrawal of appeals and assessed values as presented.
Motion: Commissioner Birzenieks MOVED, SECONDED by Commissioner Davis, to reschedule
the appeal for Cypress Green, Inc. to June 20, 2000, and approve the withdrawal of appeals and
assessed values as presented by the Tax Administrator. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED by a
4 to 0 vote.
