EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW, SEPTEMBER 11, 2007
ASSEMBLY
The New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review met on Tuesday, September 11,2007, at
1 :00 p.m. in Conference Room 601 of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center
Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. The purpose ofthe meeting was to hear appeals filed by property owners
regarding their tax value assessments.

Members present were: Chairman William A. Caster, Commissioner William A. Kopp, Jr., and
Commissioner Nancy H. Pritchett.
Vice-Chairman Robert G. Greer and Commissioner Ted Davis, Jr. were absent.
Staff members present were: Tax Administrator Robert C. Glasgow, Appraisal Supervisor Henry J.
Montgomery, Revaluation Coordinator Roger Kelley, Assistant County Attorney Sharon Huffman, and
Deputy Clerk to the Board Teresa P. Elmore.
Chairman Caster called the meeting to order and informed the appellants that the Board would hear the
appeals and make decisions following the hearings. The Tax Administrator will notify each appellant by mail
of the Board's decision.

ADDITIONAL ITEM
Appraisal Supervisor Montgomery reported that the Tax Department has found some discrepancies in
the value of condo units at Seapath Towers. He requested the Board to direct staff to make specific changes in
value by correcting the view orientation factor of units in column six to be the same as units in column 4, as
they have the same floor plan and similar views.
The Board directed staff to correct the errors found in the assessed value of properties at Seapath
Towers and to work with Assistant County Attorney Huffman in composing a letter to explain the need for the
correction to the eleven property owners of column 6.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Chairman Caster recessed the 2007 Board of Equalization and
Review at 3:15 p.m. The meeting will reconvene on September 24,2007 at 9:00 a.m.
